To expand the HWANGE TUSKER PROJECT.
There is a need to increase the scientific credibility of the HWANGE TUSKER PROJECT given that a sample size of 5 animals in the large estimated Hwange Elephant population of around 40 000 is very small. Also, historically, elephant bulls in Hwange have never been studied, so this will be ground breaking research project. Cow elephants were, and are currently being studied by other partners in Hwange with a scientifically more credible number of collars already strategically deployed.
Ideally the elephants of Hwange Tusker Project also needs to be studied over more time as is usual practice in the study of all animal species.
