CWF staff and members fully understand the need and effectiveness of a full time dedicated plane and pilot to any national park in Africa. Understandably this requires large donor funding. Within our limited capacity along with our colleagues and partners and on behalf of the government authorities whom we assist, we constantly lobby for this ideal.
CWF member PAINTED DOG CONSERVATION (PDC) and the CWF manager have negotiated a collaboration for at least a monthly visit by an independent NGO FLYING FOR WILDLIFE (FFW) in Hwange using a Savanna Microlight aircraft which is economical to run.
In this wide collaborative effort, PDC kindly contributed to logistics planning, accommodation for flying team, transport, fuel drums and fuel. Imvelo Safari Lodges also kindly contributed logistical support and accommodation. CWF contributed to the logistical planning, other equipment, drums and fuel.
